    THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

    Come Out; Go Free; Be A Witness

    ACTS CHAPTER 5: read this Chapter and be encouraged in our Lord. VERSE 19&20, 25, 29-32, 38&39, 42 … But at night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and brought them out, and said, “Go, stand in the temple and speak to the people all the words of this life.” So one came and told them, saying, “Look, the men whom you put in prison are standing in the temple and teaching the people!” But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree. Him God has exalted to His Right Hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins (Jesus died not only to bring the Gift Of Salvation to Israel, but to all mankind who would receive Him). And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.” “FOR IF THIS PLAN OR THIS WORK IS OF MEN, it will come to nothing. BUT IF IT IS OF GOD, you cannot overthrow it – lest you even be found to fight against God.” And daily, in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching JESUS as the CHRIST.

    WHAT PRISON HOLDS YOU? Are you a sinner, one who has never turned away from your sins; has never asked God for forgiveness of your sins; one who has never chosen to accept Christ Jesus into your life as you personal Lord and Savior? You will be held fast in your prison of Satan’s lies and deception for as long as you do not ask Jesus to set you free of the prison of sin that is holding you? LISTEN … that is Jesus Himself who is ‘knocking at your heart’s door right now’, wanting to come in and to set you free.

    WHAT PRISON HOLDS YOU? Are you a Christian, one who has turned away from your life of sin, but are struggling everyday; still locked behind the walls of a ‘hidden cell block’ deep within your heart? Are you still struggling with fear, rejection, betrayals, lust, discouragement, or other negative issues? GOD WANTS TO SET YOU FREE … no matter the prison that holds you. Satan has many tools that he uses against God’s Children to convince them that either God Doesn’t Love Them OR they will never be good enough or clean enough to truly be FREE of their past or their current weakness.

    DISCOURAGEMENT … Satan’s most favorite ‘TOOL’ in turning us, as Children of God away from our Heavenly Father. The story is told that Satan was going out of business. All of his tools were being offered for sale. They were all attractively displayed on a table. What an array there was: hatred, envy, jealousy, deceit! One harmless-looking tool, much worn, was priced much higher than all the others. “What is that tool?” someone asked. “DISCOURAGEMENT,” was the reply. “Why is it so expensive?” was the obvious question, considering the much worn state of the tool. Satan answered, “Because ‘IT’ is more useful to me than any of the others.” Satan uses DISCOURAGEMENT to make us Question God’s Love, to Question Our Walk With God – becoming discouraged with even ourselves, becoming disenchanted with others; making us feel inadequate and/or unworthy. Please understand that this is of the ‘enemy of your soul’ and is NOT OF GOD!

    GOD LOVES HIS CHILDREN JUST AS WE ARE AND RIGHT WHERE WE ARE IN OUR CHRISTAN WALK OF FAITH! HE will never give up on us and HE will never turn away from us and HE will never stop loving us. BUT GOD LOVES US SO MUCH THAT HE WILL NEVER LEAVE US ‘RIGHT WHERE WE ARE’. HE wants to use each discouragement, each loss, and each struggle, to GROW US and to MOLD US into the PRECIOUS VESSELS that He created us to become. We are not even left all alone in Our Seasons Of Growing to try to figure it all out and to muddle thru it all alone! Jesus, while preparing His Disciples for His Ascension back to His Father and our Father, told them (all of us who choose to follow Him) that He would ‘Ask The Father’ to send a Helper, the Holy Spirit, to live within us as our Comforter, our Counselor, and our Guide – OUR HELPER for all of our time upon this earth.

    As God brings us thru one difficulty or another, freeing us from a personal prison, He also tells us to “GO FORTH AND WITNESS TO OTHERS” of our escape and our redemption. LITTLE SECRET … by our Witness for Jesus, we are not only Sharing Him with others to encourage them, but we are GROWING STRONGER in our PERSONAL WALK WITH GOD!

    My little mother, who lived a life filled with pain and disappointment, ALSO lived a life filled with the Mercy and Grace of her Lord Jesus. Her daily life was a LIVING WITNESS to the LOVE and MERCY of GOD ALMIGHTY and how deeply HE truly cares for us – AS HIS CHILDREN. Mom went home to be with Jesus many years ago, but HER WITNESS still lives on, in my heart and the hearts of many others who watched her along the way.

    Mom often sang this song to us kids, especially in difficult and/or hurtful times, and I felt led this morning to share it with you. Sing that LAST VERSE a couple of times, and then SHOUT OUT WITH ME … THANK YOU, LORD; THANK YOU, LORD; THANK YOU, LORD! Your Promise To Me Is True And Forever!

    “I’m Too Far Upon My Journey”

    Sometimes I’m burdened down with gloom and sadness;
    Thinking of the ones that’s in this world and lost.
    This I say within my heart, ‘Oh, Blessed Savior,
    Take me through whatever then shall be the cost.’

    Chorus:
    I’m too far upon my journey friends to ever
    Think of turning back into this world of sin;
    Though I may not be the first one in God’s kingdom,
    I’ll be glad if I can only make it in.

    It’s so dangerous to have your vision covered;
    It’s dangerous to have a carnal mind.
    But if you follow in the footsteps of the Savior,
    Heaven then can be yours, the same as mine.

    It’s not always to the one who prays the loudest;
    Or to the one who always says their words the best.
    The promise is for the true and to the faithful,
    And to the one who overcomes and stands the test.
